Elden Ring: Best Intelligence Weapon

When one thinks of Intelligence weapons in Elden Ring one might first think about staves and wands, forgetting about the great swords they can also use to defeat the mighty gods and demi-gods of the Lands Between. There are many good choices that can be considered the “best Intelligence weapon in Elden Ring.”

All of these weapons are for those who choose to level the intelligence stat. It’s important to know the soft caps for intelligence in Elden Ring so you don’t accidentally waste some of your precious early game levels.

One of these is the infamous Moonveil Katana and the Dark Moon Greatsword. However, there is one weapon that is above all for specialized magic users, with pools of FP. Here is the best Intelligence weapon in Elden Ring, and how and where to find it!

What is the Best Intelligence Weapon in Elden Ring

Intelligence Weapon in Elden Ring

The best Intelligence weapon in Elden Ring for magic users in Elden Ring is the Wing of Astel. Though other weapons offer great bonuses, this one offers the best abilities for FP-heavy players by far.

The weapon is categorized as a Curved Sword, which is already really impressive. Curved Swords have some amazing battle animations that let the players dance around with their enemies. The battle will look and feel amazing using these types of weapons.

One advantage the Wing of Astel has over most Curved Swords is that it scales very well with Intelligence. Once you get it upgraded to +10, you will have a B Attribute Scaling rating.

When it comes to requirements, players need 7 Str, 17 Dex, and 20 Int to properly use the weapon. This is great for someone that chose Astrologer at the start of the game, as they can meet these requirements quite easily after a few levels.

Where to Find and Get the Wing of Astel in Elden Ring

Wing of Astel

The special hiding place of the Wing of Astel is in a chest, resting on a bridge next to a Malformed Star mini-boss, in the Uhl Palace Ruins. You can only get to this magical place through the northern part of the Ainsel River.

To start this search adventure, fast travel to the Nokstella. That is eternal city site of grace, and head upwards to the east. Continue going up, following the right wall of the cavern till you find a place to jump down on a ledge/bridge, overlooking the Malformed Star enemy. You will see from a distance the chest, just resting there with the Wing of Astel inside.

How to Use the Wing of Astel

Best Intelligence Weapon

This weapon cannot be infused with Ashes of War. However, its original weapon skill, Nebula (20 FP per use), is more than enough. As seen in the image above, Nebula will leave a dozen balls of start light that will explode and deal major stun damage. This skill is amazing against large bosses that don’t tend to move around that much. The only problem with this ability is that it takes a little while for the stars to explode.

To upgrade the Wing of Astel, as with most special, unique weapons, you will need to use Somber Smithing Stones. At +10, the armament will get a B Int attribute scaling, C Dex, and E Str.

The real beauty of this weapon is the heavy attack, which is a ranged, 0 FP attack. It is a magic attack, similar to the Moonveil Katana’s special attack, that uses no mana and that lets you shoot 2 missiles if charged. This heavy attack also works well with light attack combos. As most of these combos can be very unpredictable in PvP, and quite lethal.

The heavy attack deals physical damage from the sword as well. So, this ability is much more powerful at close range. Players can also chain these attacks to send multiple magical projectiles to their enemies. This armament is great for both crowd control and one on one battles, which is surprising for an Int weapon.

End

That is all there is to know about the mighty Wing of Astel Int weapon in Elden Ring. As specified earlier, it is an amazing armament for Intelligence-focused Tarnished, who might even stop using their normal spells and just concentrate on using this weapon’s skill. Nebula can be great for most boss battles, especially when one times it right, and it can get you easy stuns. All that’s left is for the player to practice the combos a bit,  get used to these amazing powers, and become a Wing of Astel master!

Now that you have the Wing of Astel with you, there are many more things you can get and learn to improve your experience in the Lands Between.
