Elden Ring – Final Boss Guide

Final Boss Guide

Depending on your level of play and your build, the ending of Elden Ring may seem too complex. If getting to the final boss is too complicated, the final fight can be hell. In this Elden Ring – Final Boss guide, we will show you how to face the big fight against Radagon, the second lord of Elden, who is also the male part of Queen Marika.

Behind him awaits the dreamlike conclusion against the Beast of Elden, the vassal of the Supreme Will, the outer deity that currently rules the Midlands. A battle as epic as it is complicated.

Preparations

  • The spirit summoned will largely determine the difficulty of the fight, the Mimetic Tear +10 may make it easy for you, but if that’s what you need, don’t hesitate.
  • Finding Legendary Talismans can also help, with the Draconic Shield, or the +2 World Tree Blessing not far from your position. The +2 Talisman that increases resistance to the holy will also help to significantly reduce the damage of certain attacks.
  • You can craft and use consumables that increase holy resistance. Using a coating for your weapon will also help you defeat the boss faster.

Phase 1: Radagon of the Golden Order

Elden Ring - Final Boss Guide Radagon of the Golden Order
  • As you may have already discovered, this boss is formidable. He is fast, aggressive and has many attacks that are difficult to counter. He severely punishes the outrageous use of flips that we usually perform in a moment of panic, as he alternates between fast hammerfists, and slower ones as if waiting for the flip to finish. Therefore, you will have to learn to manage his basic sequences (usually 3 hits), adopting the right timing for your dodges, as well as for his big attacks. Fortunately, it’s fairly easy to expose him to a critical hit if you opt for charged or jump attacks.
  • Quite a few Radagon techniques leave golden marks on the ground that will inflict damage an instant after they appear, you need to quickly get out of them. Jumping can also be a good option with the right timing.
  • When Radagon takes off and charges his hammer in the air, he prepares to pounce on you. The solution is counter-intuitive, you have to roll towards him at the last moment when he falls. The reason is simple, the somersault will protect you from the impact, but also from the onset of the energy wave that follows. If you continue with the attacks, it will cancel the energy blast that normally follows.
  • When Radagon charges his hammer against the ground to draw giant golden runes over much of the area, escape is pointless. The solution is to dash towards him to get past his flanks, or even from behind, at least if you’re close enough.
  • Near 50% health, Radagon will get angry and add a fast teleport to his movements, which will complicate things. When he disappears, be aware that he will reappear on you the next moment, so back off very quickly. Sometimes he is vulnerable to an attack, but most of the time he will hammer away instantly. The easiest way is to mentally prepare yourself to make a second roll, this time diagonally to avoid his attack and be able to counterattack. Sometimes he will teleport right away, so don’t let your guard down.

Phase 2: Beast of Elden

Beast of Elden

After Radagon’s death, the real final boss appears. Unfortunately for you, this counts as the same fight, and you will have to face Radagon at every attempt. This second phase is not particularly difficult actually, but since it’s impossible to train and you’re not in very good shape after finishing the first phase, it makes it harder. Therefore, your best chance of winning is to start this phase with as many healing potions as possible and summon. Having enough health and stamina to not be killed directly by this boss’s attacks will also help. You have one second after Radagon dies to cast a spell or drink a potion.

In melee, this fight is really painful, and locking the camera on his head is a good way to completely disorient you and make you nauseous. You’ll have to keep an eye on his arms and listen to the sound effects to identify the spells and techniques he’s preparing so you know when and how to move.

The weak point of this boss is his golden/galaxy spot on his chest. This is where you must attack, and also where to critically hit him when he is exposed.

You will have to run after the boss in the different corners of the arena, try to manage your stamina well so that you have enough to keep dodging and attacking when you reach him. Now let’s go over his main attacks and how to dodge them:

  • Sword slashes are absolutely devastating, but it’s easy to see them coming, and you should be able to dodge them with a little practice if you’ve made it this far. It’s especially necessary to watch out for his weapon when it glows gold, he’ll plant it in the lake and make it explode. It’s probably better to do a somersault to end up on his back than to try a double melee dodge.
  • The type of space gas cloud that spreads in the area is not instantly dangerous but will explode after a few moments.
  • One of its most dangerous attacks is the summoning of small golden balls, it is accompanied by a characteristic sound, so you can prepare yourself. You have to run laterally to avoid the rain of projectiles. If you get hit by them all, certain death awaits you.
  • A variant used later on is the summoning of a golden ball that will follow you and revolve around you, constantly launching guided projectiles. It will surely cause nightmares for those who try to finish off the boss without getting hit. There’s not much to do but run around dodging regularly to limit the damage.
  • Finally, the beast has two super attack variants. It will summon a large circular Elden rune in the sky and charge it. It is absolutely necessary to run at full speed so as not to be under it. The area covered is very wide. Golden circles will fall in front of you, try to jump over them. Your goal is to get out of the big golden circle on the ground. This attack comes in two forms, a “simple” one with a single golden wave to dodge and an area that is not so large. And a complex version, which comes later in the fight, with 2 to 3 waves to dodge, and a much larger area for the final explosion.

Rewards

In addition to a lot of runes, 500,000, you’re going to get Elden’s memory, redeemable for weapons at the Round Table. However, this time there is no Trophy, it will come with the next stage.

Of course, the real reward, in this case, is the end of the game. As long as you don’t interact with Marika in the center of the room, you can try to go and get the items needed for the other endings. Although it’s probably too late for some quests, such as Corhyn.

After admiring the brief final scene, you will be offered to start New Game Plus, which will restart it at the beginning of the game while retaining your character, with improved difficulty and rune gains. You can refuse, it is always possible to launch the new quest from the Round Table later.
