How to Get Large Milk in Stardew Valley

You cannot have a cow without a barn. Just think of where they will sleep and take cover when the winter and rainy days come.

You can purchase the barn from Robin’s Carpenter’s Shop for 6,000 gold. So, you must first collect enough amount of materials to let Robin build this for you on your farm. You must have at least 350 pieces of wood and at least 150 pieces of stones. After three Stardew Valley days, you can now enjoy your barn and buy your first cow.

Now, that leaves us with the question of where and how you can get a cow.

For you to have a cow, you can go and head over to Marnie’s Ranch located in the northeast part of the Cindersap Forest. 

Simply go talk to Marnie and choose between a white or a brown cow. Regardless of your cow choice, it will function the same as the other as long as it is well taken care of.

Cows are the only animal that can give you quality milk which is why knowing the proper way of taking care of them is essential.

Increasing Friendship Levels with Cow

For you to be able to guarantee your cow’s large milk production, one of the most important things that you must do is to increase your friendship and affection with your cow. And yes, you have read it right, friendship also involves your farm animals other than the other villagers in the town.

To maintain a friendship with your cow, there are two things that you should not forget to do every day. The first thing is to always pet and interact with your cow. Doing this every day will increase your friendship with them by 15 points. Forgetting to do this for only a day will deduct five to ten friendship points.

The next thing you have to do is to let them eat grass outside. Do this by simply opening the barn door when it is not raining or snowing.

 Increasing friendship

You can track your progress in increasing the friendship by clicking on your cow. Upon doing this, the age and your relationship with them will show. Once you see a full five hearts, then that means that you have already reached the maximum. Five full hearts is equivalent to 1000 points. 

When you have finally reached this situation wherein all five hearts are full, then it will guarantee you high-quality milk in exchange. Just make sure to maintain this by doing all the needed care for them.

Uses of Large Milk 

The fact that you have worked so hard to make your cow produce large milk only proves how valuable large milk is.

That being said, this section will tell you all the things you can do with all the large milk you obtained from your cows.

Regenerating Effects

All the goods that you can get from various sources can give you different levels of regenerative abilities.

A normal large milk can grant you an additional 50 energy and 22 health. While silver large milk has plus 70 energy and 31 health. On the other hand, gold large milk gives 90 energy and 40 health. Lastly, an iridium large milk replenishes 130 energy and 58 health.

Profit

Due to its high-quality, large milk is also a good source of profit as it changes value depending on the type and on your profession.

If you have a regular large milk, its base price will be 190 gold. For silver large milk, it will cost 237 gold. For the gold and iridium large milk, each will cost 285 and 380 gold respectively.

However, if you have chosen the rancher profession, there will be a 20% increment to the base selling price of each.

However, not all are good options to consider giving large milk. These include the Dwarf, Elliott, Haley, Lewis, the Wizard, and Kent.
