How to Make Pale Ale Stardew Valley

What is Pale Ale

Farmers need a break from work, too. For others, having a good rest at home is the definition of a break. But for some, a good drink that can give warmth to their body and soul is the answer. Stardew Valley also recognizes the people who love to have some alcohol in their bodies as their way of relaxation.

Pale ale is one of the Artisan goods that you can make in Stardew Valley. However, making a single pale ale will require you for a long period of time, as expected from an artisan good. But as we know, these types of goods such as pale ale will have a better quality the longer you let it stay.

That being said, this is a complete guide that will tell you how you can make a pale ale and what you can do with it.

How to Make a Pale Ale in Stardew Valley

Starting your journey on making a pale ale is actually easier than you can think of. You just need to have a few items such as Hops, Hops Starter, Keg, and Cask. However, these simple items to start will eventually be harder during the actual making process, especially if waiting is your weakness.

That being said, here is more detailed information on how you can make your own pale ale.

Obtain a Hops Starter

When talking about pale ale, hops are the most important thing that you should think of. Without hops, you will never be able to make your favorite pale ale.

If you are still wondering what hops is, it is a vegetable crop that you can plant and grow on your farm. To do that, you must first lay your hands on some Hops Starters.

Hops Starter is the seed that you will use to grow Hops. You can buy it from Pierre’s General Store for 60 gold (prices in the picture are higher because they are out of season) or from JojaMart for 75 gold if you are not a member, and 60 gold if you have a membership.

Once you have the Hops Starter, you can plant it on your farm, and after 12 Stardew Valley days, you will be able to see the Hops growing. But one thing you have to remember is to plant it during summer. But if you want to plant it at any time of the year, make sure to plant your Hops Starters in the Greenhouse or on the Island Farm.

The good thing about hops is that once they grow on the 12th day, they will be continuously growing hops every day after that. Meaning, you will have a good source of hops once they reach the 12th day.

Craft a Keg

After you secure your source of hops, the next step you have to do is to craft a keg. You can earn the keg recipe by increasing your farming skill level to 8. When you already have the crafting recipe, all you have to do now is obtain the needed materials to make one.

What you will need to craft a keg is 30x Wood, 1x Copper Bar, 1x Iron Bar, and 1x Oak Resin.

Brew Pale Ale

Kegs are the main equipment that you will be using in making your pale ale. When you have already harvested enough hops and crafted kegs, it’s now time to brew pale ales.

Just hold the hops, move next to the keg that you will use, and interact with it. This will cause the hops to be placed inside the keg. After 1 and a half Stardew Valley days, the hops will completely turn into a pale ale.

Age Pale Ale

Aging Pale Ale

Just like any other alcoholic drink, pale ales can also be aged in Stardew Valley. This is done in order to increase its palatability, selling price, and overall quality. To do this, you will need a lot of casks.

For you to be able to craft casks, you have to first upgrade your farmhouse twice until you have your own basement. This is where you will be putting your casks. After the renovation, you will automatically have 33 casks placed in your basement. But if ever you want to add more, you can craft one with 20x Wood and 1x Hardwood.

To age pale ale, simply carry it and interact with a cask. This will place the pale ale inside the cask to age.

As mentioned, aging the pale ale will increase its overall quality. That being said, the number of days they require also differs. Here is a list of the total number of days it needs to age:

  • Base to Silver Quality – 9 days
  • Silver to Gold Quality – 17 days
  • Gold to Iridium Quality – 34 days

Things You Can Do with Pale Ale

After all the hard work you have done to produce pale ales and make sure that they are in the best quality and condition, it is just right to know all the things you can do with them. In fact, there are lots of things where you can make use of the pale ales that you have just made. Here are some.

Profit

It is already given that all artisan goods are literally good sources of income in Stardew Valley. However, the value of the item will vary depending on its quality which is directly related to the aging process.

Casks
