Pam is Thirsty Quest Guide

Pam is Thirsty Quest

Once you have already experienced life in Stardew Valley, you will understand when I say that the whole place is as busy as the first day you arrived. But despite their busy schedules, all the villager still find time to leave their work and spend time on leisure activities. If you happen to stop by Gus’s Stardrop Saloon, you might encounter this lady named Pam. Eventually, she will ask you for a favor that will trigger the Pam is Thirsty Quest.

Gus and Stardrop Saloon

Pam is one of the regular customers of Gus in his Stardrop Saloon. In fact, Gus once said that if Pam and Clint stopped going to his saloon, he would probably close down the business. She is known for her love of Pale Ale and all alcoholic drinks served in the saloon.

The quest Pam is Thirsty is one of the story-based quests that you will encounter in Stardew Valley. This is actually a pretty easy one to accomplish. If you already know a lot about Pam, you will definitely get a gist of what will happen in this quest.

To give you a brief explanation of how to complete this quest, here is an article to help you out, so get those mugs up!

How to Start Pam is Thirsty Quest

Pam is Thirsty quest is one of those quests that you will encounter at a specific time of the game. Unlike the other quests, this does not require you to complete a prerequisite quest or to discover a new area. All you have to do is wait until you receive a letter in your mail sent by Pam on the 14th Summer of Year One

In the letter, Pam tells you about how she thirsts for Pale Ale. Having said that, you have to give Pam a Pale Ale to complete this quest.

What is Pale Ale

Pale ale is one of the artisan goods that you can produce in Stardew Valley. It is an alcoholic beverage made from hops which you can easily grow during the summer season. Just like an actual alcoholic drink, consuming this will affect your current state. In fact, consuming one inside the game will give you a negative buff. After consuming it, the player will experience a -1 movement speed.

However, given that it is an artisan product, making Pale ale is a good strategy for making a profit. This is especially true when you have aged your Pale ale well until it reaches an iridium quality. To start off, this is how you can make a Pale ale.

How to Grow Hops

Hops is a type of vegetable that you can grow on your farm during the summer season. In order to grow this vegetable, you just have to buy a Hops Starter. There are three places where you can buy its seeds, and of course, their prices vary for each.

Hops in Greenhouse

But if you suddenly need to make a Pale ale during other season other than summer, you can still grow hops if you plant it inside the greenhouse. But in terms of completing the Pam is Thirsty quest, there is nothing for you to worry about the greenhouse since you will receive the letter during the summer season.

The Hops Starters from Pierre’s General Store costs 60 gold, while you can buy it for 75 gold from JojaMart. You can also buy a Hops Starter from the Travelling Cart for a more expensive price that ranges from 100 to 1,000 gold.

When planting Hops Starters, it will take 11 Stardew Valley days for it to be fully grown. But what’s good about growing hops on your farm is that it continues to grow. Once hops reach the 11th day on the farm, they will keep on producing every day. That being said, hops are a good investment during the summer season. It is the perfect season to store lots of hops to produce Pale ales later on.

Producing Pale Ale

After you collected enough Hops, you can now proceed to make the Pale ale. The good thing is that one Pale ale only requires 1 Hops.

However, you will need the most important artisan equipment in making these precious beverages – kegs! You will be able to obtain the crafting recipe for the keg once you reach Farming Skill level 8. You can check the other rewards for leveling up your farming skills here.

To start making Pale ales, simply place hops in one keg and wait for 2,250 minutes in-game or almost one and a half Stardew Valley days to turn it into a Pale ale. This means that after waking up the next day, you can immediately check your keg for the produced Pale ale.

But if you think Pam is a special villager in the game and want to treat her to a nicer quality Pale ale, you can choose to age this alcoholic drink using a cask. It takes 9 days to make it a silver quality, 17 days to make it gold quality, and 34 days to make it an iridium one.

Since the letter did not mention anything about the quality, the decision is on you whether to give it as is or in a better quality. Moreover, if you want a more detailed guide on how to make Pale Ale, make sure to check out this guide.
