All the New Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak

Since its release, Monster Hunter Rise has not stopped surprising players with its huge world and the possibilities it gave hunters to explore it. The game has remained relevant since its release on Playstation 2 in 2004. Since then, all its installments have been better than the previous one.

After Monster Hunter Rise made a big splash when it came out in 2021, the bar for the next installment was set very high, so it was only natural that Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak would have to be a huge success to live up to that expectation. Released in July of this year 2022, this huge expansion was considered a treat for fans. Therefore, in this list, we will celebrate the arrival of this new game by looking at all the monsters it brought.

Pyre Rakna-Kadaki

In theory, this species does not differ much from the rest of the Rakna-Kadaki. The big difference comes when you discover that they are covered with explosives. This would kill any other monster, but not this one. Since its body is made to resist any kind of explosion.

Their form of attack is quite simple: by striking their limbs they can induce controlled explosions. In addition, they can also coordinate mass explosions with their offspring.

Gore Magala

New Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise - Gore Magala

These beasts cannot see their enemies, but they fix this weakness thanks to their winged scales. Which they use to sharpen their senses and find different life forms around them.

When it enters a frenzied state, Gore Magala can destroy and lift the earth by striking it violently. When attacking, its claws are used to kill its prey using very dangerous movements.

Daimyo Hermitaur

New Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise - Daimyo Hermitaur

Typical beach beasts that find tranquility living in the sand, protecting themselves from enemies that make the mistake of attacking them with their dangerous claws.

As a natural evolution from when they were younger. These beings use their shells not only to defend themselves but as an alternative to their claws to attack their enemies.

Aurora Somnacanth

Monster Hunter Rise - Aurora Somnacanth

Unlike Somnacanth, its counterpart, this highly territorial monster adapted to its icy environment and its appearance changed accordingly. Another big difference is that Aurora Somnacanth does not make its prey fall asleep, but tries to kill them by launching icy blasts when it feels invaded.

Malzeno

Malzeno

This elder dragon, covered in silver-colored scales, can take the energy of other living beings and attack them when they are unprepared. Considered a majestic being, when this Monster Hunter Rise steals enough energy it takes on a much more sinister appearance.

Scorned Magnamalo

Monster Hunter Rise - Scorned Magnamalo

A full-fledged evolution of the original Magnamalus. This variant is more dangerous, resistant, and evil than its counterpart.

These beings are surrounded by Hellfire and can control it to perfection, materializing it in the form of a sword or shooting it from its tail.

Lunagaron

Lunagaron

Its enormous speed and ability to adapt to different terrains make the Lunagaron able to survive almost any habitat, although it prefers ice.

Espinas

Espinas

If something characterizes the Wyverns, it’s their ability to use the escapes of their skin both defensively and offensively. These majestic beings live in peace knowing that they are the kings of their habitat since no one dares to confront them.

When they feel threatened, they are formidable. Their body glows crimson red and their calm nature explodes into a violent and destructive personality.

Shagaru Magala

Monsters Hunter Rise - Shagaru Magala

Their black scales can spread over large regions and wipe out all life in their path. As it matures, its beautiful, majestic wings grow so large that they are capable of covering its entire body.

Shogun Ceanataur

New Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise - Shogun Ceanataur

Similar to their variations in previous installments of this adventure. These monsters gained a lot of popularity for using Wyvern skulls as their shells. The huge claws of this being can tear through almost anything in its path.

Furious Rajang

New Monsters in Monster Hunter Rise - Shogun Ceanataur - Furious Rajang

Unlike the standard Rajang, these beings are much stronger and are unable to control their anger and rage at all times. Their golden skin never loses intensity as a result of their inability to calm down.

When their rage reaches its peak, the color of the Furious Rajang’s hair undergoes an even greater intensity, so they become electrified unbridled beasts.

Seregios

Seregios

One of the most territorial and aggressive hunters. Seregios not only protects his territories with his life but is also a natural conqueror, stripping other monsters of their habitats.

In combat, this aerial monster comes into conflict with other monsters regardless of their size. Hunters should watch out when Seregios launches his scales, as they inflict bleeding.

Astalos

Astalos

They may not be conquerors like the Seregios, but they are definitely much more aggressive.  Astalos possess enormous range and strength to attack those who invade their territory.

Their body is made to generate and contain an enormous amount of electrical energy. Which they use to power their attacks to the maximum.

Magma Almudron

Magma Almudron

Native to the lava caverns, Magma Almudron releases a liquid that, upon contact with the ground, melts it and gives this being the freedom to move through the earth.

Unlike Almudron, its counterpart, this monster’s tail holds a ball of fire and not a ball of mud.

Blood Orange Bishaten

Blood Orange Bishaten

This variation of Bishaten uses its pouches to house pine cones, which it then ignites with its breath. Unlike its counterpart, Blood Orange Bishaten can spit fire, which makes it much more dangerous.

This dangerous monster also can ignite those pinecones and make them circle around him for extra protection. In addition, Blood Orange Bishaten can plant pine cones in the ground, which will explode as soon as they come into contact with another living thing.

Garangolm

Garangolm

With its saliva, this huge and rigid monster can make the vegetation around it grow, which explains why its body is full of it. In addition, Garangolm can use these same fluids to harden it, which allows him to put plants to offensive use.

Gaismagorm

Gaismagorm

Unlike the other monsters, this is a mandatory fight, as it is the one who will appear at the end of your journey in Sunbreak. This dragon has very powerful attacks, to survive you can only hide behind his arms to prevent him from attacking you with them. Ironically, his weakness is Dragon attacks, but since he has no elemental attacks, you will also be in danger, since you can’t use any resistance against them.
