The Best Arcanist Build in TeamFight Tactics

Arcanist Build in TeamFight Tactics

Since League of Legends became as popular as we know it, Riot Games released many game modes and variations so that the classic 5vs5 does not become too monotonous. Many of them are very popular, such as ARAM or URF, but only one achieved such popularity that it not only competed with the main adventure but has its fanbase of players. As we all know, that game mode is called TeamFight Tactics.

Today we are going to go over the best Arcanist build in TFT.

Best Arcanist Build in TFT

Among all the play styles, one of the most popular is the Arcanist. Those who play a lot of mid-lane in the main game and are used to using mages will see many familiar faces, as this style is made for them. But the big question is, what is the best way to play arcanist? In this list, we will see the best tips, the best Arcanist Build in TeamFight Tactics, compositions, and characteristics of this style.

Pros of playing Arcanist

– With a good start of arcanists, the game becomes a lot easier

– Good flexibility in terms of items

– Multiple carriages to give items to.

– Lots of “sustain” in terms of healing and protection against assassins.

Cons of playing Arcanist

– If someone else is playing it, it gets very complicated because Vex costs 3.

– Tends to suffer a lot early

– Sometimes very frustrating when the Socialite Cadre is not in good position.

– Being a Re-roll composition of cost 3 tokens, it requires a lot of gold and resource management.

– As a new Set mechanic, forcing a composition tends to be undermined by the augmentations that can be offered.

Vex (Cost 3) – Yordle and Arcanist

Vex shields against

-500/700/900 damage for 4 seconds.

– When the shield expires, it deals 150/250/350 magic damage to all enemies within 2 hexes, and an additional 150/250/350 damage if it has not been destroyed.

– Personal Space becomes 25% stronger in this combat. This effect can accumulate.

Vex

Malzahar (Cost 3) – Mutant and Arcanist

Malzahar infects the mind of the nearest unaffected target, causing 800/1100/1500 magic damage for 8 seconds and applies 40% of Magic Resistance for the duration.

If an affected target dies, Malzahar Evil Visions is extended to 1/1/2 unaffected targets for the remainder of the duration.

Malzahar

Lux (Cost 4) – Academy and Arcanist

After gathering energy, Lux fires a beam towards the farthest enemy target, causing 350/500/1337 and reducing the enemies’ Magic Resistances by 40%/40%/80% for 4 seconds.

Early Game

Even in an Arcanist build, there are different paths one can take. Although there are many options, the most popular routes are with Malzahar or with Vex.

Malzahar Route

If you are looking to prioritize Malzahar items for the late game, you have several options to start with.

Malzahar Route

Vex’s Route

If you are looking to play around with a good Frontline with a great magic tank like Vex, then resistance items are the best.

When we start playing, there are many builds we can choose from, but the best one is the Yordle composition.

Yordle composition

Why choose this composition?

– We have the yordles synergy that will help us to get ziggs 3 to have extra damage in Late and besides that we have a source of extra income to then look for tokens to 3 stars.

– Twisted Fate is undoubtedly the best item carrier for malzahar, good use of blue buff and AP items.

– Always sell the yordles that do not serve in the final composition, these are: Heimerdinger, Tristana and Poppy. Doing this will generate a lot of extra gold income.

– Poppy is a good Vex item carrier, don’t bother to take her out at 2 stars to have good Frontline in early.

– Always play 3 yordles and change them as you get the 3 you need. (Vex over poppy and lulu over tristana).

Mid-game

Mid-game

– Taric will make a blue box appear on the Socialite synergy board. This tends to be very dizzying in this composition but here are some tips:

1. If the box appears on the back line put Malzahar there.

2.-If the box appears in the first line put Vex in it.

3.- If it does not appear in any of the 2 cases mentioned above put Swain in it.

– Always try to take care of Malzahar from assassins, you can put Taric or Swain in front of him to be the first to receive damage from assassins and give Malzahar time to attack.

– If you get Lux as a gift while spending gold at 6, it will go instead of Swain. As for Socialite’s box, if it’ neither in the back nor in the front, it’s recommended to ignore it.

– Vex is really good as a solo-Frontline, with arcana and a tank item she can hold on her own.

– AP items that you have left over will have to go to Swain and then give them to Lux.

– Positioning will always be oriented to protect Malzahar from assassins and Blitzcrank.

Late game

The ideal would be to start working on finding Vex and Malza at 3. How do we do it? By playing a nice game style called Re-roll. Here a little bit of understanding.

– Once at level 7 we seek to be with 50 gold to have the 5 of economy.

– Spend the excess gold on upgrading the store, never go below 50, NEVER.

– In addition to Malzahar and Vex we will seek to save units like Lulu and ziggs as this will be easy with yordles to have them at 3 and are of good help.

– Going for Taric 3 is a good move, the problem is that people tend to use Taric a lot and it doesn’t pay off in the long run.

Things to highlight

– Warmog in Vex is broken, if possible try to prioritize this item over the others.

– Coat of thorn is very good when there are people playing assassins or Yone.

– Dragon’s claw is good when there are a lot of people playing lux or magic damage in general.

– Healing items are bad in vex because it already has sustained with taric and lulu.

Although many situations can arise that can change the course of the game, taking into account this ideal composition you should be prepared to play your games as an arcane. What do you think of our choice for the best Arcanist Build in TeamFight Tactics? Tell us which one is your favorite!
