Best Michael Myers Build for Dead By Daylight

As we have already done with Pinhead and Nemesis, today we will show you a guide on how to use the first licensed killer and protagonist of the first anniversary of the game: The Shape, better known as Michael Myers.

The shape is considered one of the normal killers of the game. His speed and terror radius are normal, which makes him a great killer to learn to play, but even so, he has his complexities. Because of this, we have concocted the best Michael Myers build for Dead By Daylight so that you can see what this killer has to offer in-game.

Evil Within

Best Michael Myers Build for Dead By Daylight - Evil Within

His main power is Evil Within. This means that when he starts the game, he starts with no terror radius, making him a stealth killer. This sounds good, doesn’t it? Well, it isn’t. In this state, Myers is actually very slow, even slower than the survivors, so it’s not really worth staying in Tier 1. Myers can use his power to stalk survivors and thus advance to tier 2. In this state, Myers gains a terror radius, but his speed and lunge become those of a normal killer.

If The Shape keeps stalking survivors, he can temporarily reach Tier 3. This is when the fun part begins: Michael’s terror radius and lunge increase drastically, and he will be able to take down survivors in one hit. Anyway, this is temporary, as after a few seconds he will return to Tier 2.

Tips on how to use The Shape

As soon as we start the game, we should not focus on hurting survivors or getting hooks. The main thing we must do is to get out of Tier 1 as fast as possible, so let’s focus on stalking survivors. Once in Tier 2, Myers can start looking for stalking survivors. To make the best use of Tier 3, a good Myers stalks survivors until he is only a second away from reaching Tier 3. When we are next to the survivors, advance to Tier 3 and surprise them by knocking them down in one hit.

If we reveal our Tier 3 too quickly, the survivors will hide or drop all the pallets until we return to tier 2. Finally, always remember not to activate Tier 3 to take down wounded survivors, as we can take them down in Tier 2 without wasting power.

Perks

Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)

Best Michael Myers Build - Corrupt Intervention (The Plague)

This is undoubtedly the most important perk for Myers. His biggest weakness is the early game since he starts in Tier 1 and loses some time going up to Tier 2. Corrupt Intervention will make the survivors take longer to make the first generators, giving us a little more time to get out of Tier 1 without the generators starting to activate everywhere. In case you haven’t bought this perk, you can use Discordance as a replacement, as it will also help you to quickly detect survivors so you can harass them.

Hex: Ruin (The Hag)

Hex Ruin (The Hag)

Like Corrupt Intervention, this perk will help you to make the survivors take longer to make the generators. When the survivors see Myers in the distance, they will have to choose between escaping and losing all progress on the generator or keep working on it and give Myers the chance to get to Tier 3 and take them down easily.

When you reach Tier 3, Myers’ music will change and the survivors will know it. This generates a huge map pressure that will make the survivors stop working on the generators and hide, so Ruin will do its job.

Hex: Retribution (The Deathslinger)

Hex Retribution

We can imagine that as soon as the survivors know that Ruin is in play, they will want to eliminate it, right? This is where Retribution comes into the picture. This perk is essential for Myers, as he is a killer who needs as much information as possible. When the survivors clear the totems, not only will they find that Ruin is still active, but they will reveal the position of their companions, allowing Myers to do massive damage.

Hex: Undying (The Blight)

Hex Undying

With Ruin and Retribution in play, Undying is a natural choice so you don’t lose your other Hexes. Undying will not only save you from losing your perks, but it will also reveal when survivors make totems, and we already know that Myers can happily use that information. With this Perk, The Shape can stop survivors from making totems, and in the worst case, you will only lose Undying.

Worst Perks on Myers

Make your choice (The Pig)

Despite being very popular, this perk is unnecessary for Myers, as he can take down survivors in one hit without needing it.

Knock Out (The Cannibal)

This perk used to be viable for The Shape, but with the current meta, slugging is not a good idea, since half of the survivors use Unbreakable in their builds.

Save the Best for Last (The Shape)

Although this perk is his, Michael makes little use of it. STBFL is useful when the killer can hit a lot and accumulate stacks. On a killer like Myers who can take you down in one hit, it’s really not very useful.

Best add-ons for The Shape

Tombstone Piece: This purple rarity add-on makes Myers one of the most dangerous killers in the game. This add-on will allow him to murder survivors in an instant, and unlike Judith’s Tombstone, Myers does not lose movement speed.

J. Myers Memorial: As a second add-on, it’s phenomenal. This green rarity add-on will allow you to stalk survivors much faster. This in itself is very useful, but combined with Tombstone Piece is even better since let’s remember something: when you reach Tier 3, you can kill the survivor. A good alternative to this add-on is Memoria Flower. Its effect is much lower, but it is a brown Add-on, so we can get it much easier than J. Myers Memorial.
